Jointing & Testing Competency program is a structured 3-day training program that consists of in-class lectures and hands-on activities. At the end of the training program the participants will have a good understanding of the principal in optical fiber communication system. Competency assessment shall also be carried out during hands-on session to verify the skills and ability of participants in handling optical equipment and performing test and measurement.
COURSE OBJECTIVE
• To understand the basic and principle of optical fiber communication system.
• To have the ability to perform loss test using Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR), Optical Light Source (OLS) and Optical Power Meter (OPM) measurement.
• To perform jointing and termination.
• To conduct optical fiber cable termination to underground enclosure and termination box.
LEARNING OUTCOME
Upon completion of the course, participants shall be able to;

Day 1:
• Introduction to Fiber Optic Technology.
Day 2:
• Hands-on A1: Fiber Splicing.
• Hands-on A2: Loss test (OTDR & OLTS).
• Hands-on B: Fiber Optic Cable link termination.
Day 3:
• Hands-on C: Fiber Optic Cable Link testing.
