SYNOPSIS:

The Foundation Level qualification is aimed at anyone involved in software testing or who wants a basic understanding of software testing. This includes people in roles such as testers, test analysts, test engineers, test consultants, test managers, software developers, product owners, project managers, quality managers, software development managers, business analysts, IT directors and management consultants. At the end of this course, the participants may opt for the ISTQB’s certified examination to secure the Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL)  Certification. Holders of the Foundation Certificate will be able to go on to higher-level software testing certifications.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

  1. To provide understanding of fundamental concepts and principles of software testing and software quality.
  2. To provide knowledge of common software test levels and test types.
  3. To provide knowledge in applying Static Testing techniques namely Review.
  4. To acquire hands-on application of test technique to designing tests such as Black-box, White-box and Experience-based test technique.
  5. To provide basic knowledge of managing test project.
  6. To provide insight of benefits and disadvantages of using tools in testing activities.
  7. To prepare participants to take CTFL examination.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

Upon completion of the course, participants shall be able to:

  1. Understand fundamental concepts and principles of software testing and test process.
  2. Compare and align different test level and test types with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  3. Understanding the important of Reviews and contribute effectively in reviews process.
  4. Apply testing techniques (Black-box, White-box and Experience-based) for designing tests at all test levels
  5. Understand test management principles in organizing, planning, monitoring test activities.
  6. Incorporate Configuration Management, Risk-based testing, and Defect Management in managing test activities.
  7. Assist in the selection and implementation process of testing tools
